Scars & Character Advancement
I was today-years-old when I learned that the term "dreadlocks" has racist roots and can be considered offensive. It has been changed to "locks" in the random hair table
My players are getting clobbered by Scars. It's a 50/50 chance that something good will come out of getting one, but I've got one PC in my group who earned 2 scars before reaching second level and both turned out to be bad. It feels too punishing. PCs only gain scans when they fall to exactly 0HP (as is the case in Into The Odd where this system is adapted from)
I changed the Ability Bonus increase from a series of random rolls to a static +1 at Level 2-10. Combined with the +3, +2, and +1 gained at character creation this will give a Level 10 PC +15 across their stats. +7 remains the highest an Ability Bonus can go, and I've reinstated the rule that a bonus can never be more than Level +2
Finally, I added a mechanical modifier to fatigue in addition to the Item Slot penalty that already existed.
