Trim That Fat!
I pulled the trigger on something I've been wanting to do for some time now. I ditched the traditional 6 ability scores of D&D and reduced them to 3: Strength, Dexterity, & Wisdom.
In basic rules set like Relic, It's not that I think Constitution, Intelligence, and Charisma are bad. Just that there's no reason you can't fold the first two into other stats and the third was only ever used for random reactions and rumor hunting -two things that can just as easily be done via roleplaying. My point is, that they are better suited to more simulationist rules where that level of granularity, and the skills you can associate with them, matter.
To get the zine down to a more manageable 10 pages for anyone who wanted to save it as a booklet and print a few copies out, I cut the Monk class and removed the last few pages of random tables.
Monk was moved to a zine that I am about to go live with -it's nothing but Relic character classes. 12 of them.
I hope folks enjoy the changes!
